Thank you!! We did it!!

Wednesday, April, 8, 2009

Dear Friend,

I am writing to say to say that I won my race yesterday for the Fitchburg City Council - District 4 Seat 8 by receiving 1,008 votes - see attached link http://www.city.fitchburg.wi.us/documents/040709results.pdf for the official results. I am really excited about the opportunity to be part of the next Fitchburg City Council. I officially will be sworn in on April 21.

I have asked the new mayor, Jay Allen, to appoint me to the Library Board where, if given the opportunity, I pledge to to work tirelessly to finally build a public library in Fitchburg that will serve our city for generations to come. I also hope to serve on the City Ag and Rural Affairs Committee where I will intend to continue to advocate for a vibrant business climate while at the same time preserving the open spaces that have made Fitchburg such a great place to live all while holding the line on taxes and spending.

Overall, I was very pleased with last night's election results in Fitchburg. We will have a new mayor and three new members on the City Council. I look forward to working with all of my new colleagues as we tackle the challenging issues facing our wonderful city. Also, I was very happy with the Dane County Executive's race where our good friend, Kathleen Falk, cruised to re-election after receiving a sizeable and very impressive margin of victory throughout Fitchburg.

Again, thank you for all your support during the past four months; I couldn't have done it with you, and of course, do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of assistance. I look forward to serving on your behalf.

Thank you,
Shawn

Pfaff for City Council Lit Drop - Sat. March 28th - 10 a.m.

Sunday, March 8, 2009

Hello all:

I am writing to ask for your help with a lit drop for my City Council Campaign on Saturday, March 28th at 10 a.m. We will meet at Gwen and my house - 5205 Day Lily Pl in Fitchburg (note directions below).

For many of you who have done lit drops for previous campaigns, I think you will agree that a lit drop is a great way to get exercise and to help a candidate spread the word about the campaign and to remind voters to get out and vote.

I hope you'll be able to join us. It will only take a few hours (done by 1 p.m. by the latest) and would be very much appreciated. If you can't make it at 10 a.m., please feel free to come later in the day.

I hope you'll be able to join us on Sat. March 28th at 10 a.m. We will be providing refreshments.

See the attached link for directions to our house in Fitchburg.

FITCHBURG -- Fitchburg will have its own library.Nearly four months after a split referendum in which voters approved the construction but not the operation of a library, the City Council voted Tuesday ...

You're Invited to a Neighborhood Meet and Greet...Thursday, January 22, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

January 13, 2009

Dear Friend:

As we begin the New Year, it is hard to believe that the Holidays have already passed and that we are heading into another election season. Yes, we know that the November election was just a few months back and that we are on the cusp of the inauguration of our next President, but this spring’s elections are just around the corner and are so important for the future direction of Fitchburg.

We are writing to let you know about our enthusiastic support of Shawn Pfaff, who is running for the vacant District 4 Seat 8 Aldermanic seat on the Fitchburg City Council. We strongly support Shawn and are honored to serve as his campaign’s Co-Chairs. We believe that he will bring solid leadership skills and a vision to maintain and even improve our safe neighborhoods, vibrant business climate, and quality city services that have made Fitchburg such a great place to live. We are also pleased that Shawn is a big proponent of a library in Fitchburg.

Please join us for a Neighborhood Meet and Greet in honor of Shawn at the home of John and Alice Jenson, 2523 Targhee Street, in Fitchburg on Thursday, January 22, 2009, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to meet your neighbors and friends in District 4 and from across Fitchburg.

Shawn, 37, and his wife, Gwendolyn, have lived in Swan Creek since 2004. Shawn brings an impressive background of relevant experience and community involvement that provides him with the necessary skills to be an effective member of the City Council.

Shawn is very active in our community where he serves on the City’s Police and Fire Commission and is actively involved in the Fitchburg Lions Club. Shawn has also served as the local government liaison to Governor Jim Doyle during the Governor’s first term where he worked closely with local government, business and community leaders from across the state on important issues like ensuring funding for adequate police and fire protection, crime prevention, economic development and state aid programs.

We thank you so much for your involvement and interest in our city’s future. We certainly hope that you will be able to join us on Thursday, January 22, to meet Shawn and to enjoy a glass of wine, tasty hors d’oeuvres, and some fun conversation. If you have any questions, please give us a call (Jeanie 271-9408 or Alice 273-2991).

Sincerely,

Jeanie Sieling                        Alice Jenson

Happy New Year! Great News...

January 11, 2009

I hope you all had a happy and safe new year! Gwen and I sure did - except for the Badgers losing their bowl game.

I have great news on the campaign front. I found out this past Friday, Jan. 9 at 5 p.m., that I would not have an opponent and would be running unopposed in this Spring's election for the vacant District 4 Seat 8 position on the Fitchburg City Council. As a first time candidate, I am rather honored and humbled (and probably lucky)  to be running without an opponent.

Even though I don't have competition, I promise you that I will continue to work hard - going door to door, attending forums, listening to residents and hosting/attending events - in order to hear firsthand the concerns and issues facing Fitchburg's 4th Aldermanic District.

This election will be exciting in Fitchburg because four people are running for mayor and in many ways, this election will determine what direction Fitchburg will choose for its future.

As you know, I am running because I believe Fitchburg's future can even be brighter than its past. I support building a library in Fitchburg and believe that ALL residents in every corner of the city need adequate and timely fire protection. I also believe that we must work collaboratively to make sure that our open spaces are preserved while continuing to become a modern city. And, doing all of this while being mindful of the economic concerns facing our city's taxpayers.

Over the next few weeks, I will be holding a couple of campaign events to meet face to face with voters. I am really looking forward to these events and am hopeful that you may be able to attend one of them. I will send you an invite for those events.

Again, thank you for your support of my campaign. Your early support was crucial for me as I was able to move very quickly over the Holidays and early in the New Year to garner valuable support for my campaign.

As always, stay up to date with my campaign by visiting www.shawnpfaff.com or send me an email at campaign@shawnpfaff.com.

Happy New Year!
- Shawn

P.S. Of course, I am still accepting donations. You can do that on-line.

We're off and running!!

December 21st

Dear Friend,

Thank you for signing up as a supporter of my run for the Fitchburg City Council. I decided to run because I believe that Fitchburg needs a strong voice for its bright future. I am running in an open seat because the current Alderman is running for Mayor.

Things are going really well!

I announced my candidacy on Thursday and have been spending the last couple of days collecting nomination signatures in 15 inches of snow and minus 20 degree wind chlll. Wow! Is it cold! I plan on turning in my nomination signatures this week before the Holidays.

I have also picked up some key endorsements from Dane Co. Exec. Kathleen Falk, State Rep. Sondy Pope-Roberts, two former Fitchburg Mayors, and a Member of the City Council

Again, thank you for your support and be sure to visit www.shawnpfaff.com, and of course, I can accept donations on-line.

Happy Holidays,
Shawn
